Jake Jacobson, Social Media Manager, Garmin International:

The @Garmin Twitter account was born in the back seat of a van in rural France, where Jake Jacobson was following the best cyclists in the world. Since that first stage of the 2008 Tour, Jake has used Twitter, YouTube, Facebook and the Garmin blog to blend personality with product information while engaging and educating customers in Garmin’s many global markets – automotive, aviation, fitness, outdoor, marine and mobile. Jake’s current role as Social Media Manager for the world leader in satellite navigation embodies his enthusiasm for an active, social lifestyle and experience in professional communication, public speaking and journalism.


Justin Meyer, Manager of Air Service Development, Kansas City Aviation Department:

Justin Meyer  is the Manager of Air Service Development with the Kansas City Aviation Department. In addition to recruiting airlines to Kansas City International Airport, Justin is also the driving force behind the airport’s social media efforts. While not a true early adopter to social media, KCI has found a niche in the space over the last two years. The airport’s efforts to engage social-savvy customers have been recognized by the Kansas City Star, the Boston Globe and top aviation bloggers. In July of 2010 Forbes ranked KCI as the Top Tweeting Airport in its peer group.


Jenna Petroff, Public Relations and Social Media Manager for Hardee’s Food Systems, Inc:

Jenna Petroff is the Public Relations and Social Media Manager for Hardee’s Food Systems, Inc., a subsidiary of CKE Restaurants (also parent company to Carl’s Jr.), and one of the largest quick-serve restaurant chains in the U.S. Jenna spearheads publicity efforts for the chain, is part of the company and agency team leading community optimization, directs regional Facebook communications, manages the Flickr site and is the voice of the brand on Twitter.  Specializing in influencer relations, project development and management, emerging media strategy/tactics, integrated marketing programs, and planned giving administration, Jenna also has an extensive marketing, sales, sponsorship and fundraising program development, event production and promotions background in radio and television that provides a unique insight into journalist relations and consumer marketing communications. Jenna conceptualized strategy and led the implementation in support of the Hardee’s 50th Anniversary campaign – a program that won “Best Social Media Campaign” from Exact Target during the Subscriber’s Rule Awards at Connections 2011 and finalist honors from OMMA for   “Best Integrated Online Campaign, Restaurants and Fast Food” (2011).  Jenna’s work been praised by such social media influencers as Sarah Evans and Peter Shankman during their speaking engagements. Evans commended Hardee’s for having great social media releases. Shankman Tweeted that Jenna has “forgotten more about brand promo than any of us will ever know,” and profiled her efforts for the chain as an example of what companies should be doing in his book, “Customer Service: New Rules for a Social Media World.”

Co-Chair of Armstrong Teasdale’s Social Media practice group, Craig is well-versed in the resources, strategy and legal aspects of social media and closely follows the evolving laws that impact its use. Advising clients in a wide range of industries, he helps employers draft, update and maintain policies addressing employees’ online activities and provides training on the use, benefits and risks of living in a tech savvy world. Additionally, Craig has a developing focus in the area of information privacy law and how that area has an increasing interconnection with social media. Jeff Schultz, Co-Chair Social Media Practice Group, Armstrong Teasdale Attorneys
