“Relationships and Brand Building in the Social Media Age,” takes place in St Louis on November 3, and is shaping up to have an especially strong agenda that is attracting attendees from across the Midwest, not just the local St Louis area.
It’s especially gratifying to see a number of return attendees making the trip to St Louis – attendees who are familiar with the highly engaged and interactive nature of Social: IRL workshops and are excited to learn from the experts we’ve been able to bring together for this next event.
“Relationships and Brand Building” is targeted to marketing, public relations, and communications professionals and those seeking to use the social web to create meaningful relationships with customers, build brands and drive business.

Valeria Maltoni
The foundation of the day’s learning will be provided through an interactive workshop session lead by acclaimed business strategist and author Valeria Maltoni. Valeria brings a wealth of experience leading engagement strategies for major Fortune 500 brands, with more than 10 years specializing in online strategy. Her Conversation Agent blog is consistently ranked among the top 30 marketing blogs in the world on the AdAge Power150 You can also connect with Valeria on Twitter @ConversationAge.
Valeria describes her keynote session as “the conversation we never had about social media and desperately need to have to make sense of what works and what doesn’t. The prequel to the tactical implementations that have followed in the last couple of years.” She gave some insights in to content she’ll be covering in three recent blog posts: Inhabiting Your Vision, What Can I Do With It?, I’m Not Buying It and The Business Behind Conversations. This is going to be a truly valuable workshop session you will not want to miss.
In addition to learning from Valeria, attendees will participate in sessions covering everything from social strategy to social CRM.
We were excited to add a valuable new session to the agenda focusing on a critical but often overlooked issue faced by businesses today – ownership of online content and communities. During this session, leading social media attorneys will discuss the legal aspects of content and contacts and show attendees how to make sure they know who owns their work and community, and how to avoid potential legal problems.
You can read full descriptions of each of the day’s sessions here.
It’s also been great to see local support for the event from the St Louis community. Local event sponsors include the St. Louis Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, St. Louis Social Media Club, St. Louis Women in Media, 4ORCE Digital, and Hardees. They join national sponsors Spredfast, Klout, ManageFlitter, emfluence, and Expion.
This is going to be a very special event. Save the date, and make the trip to St Louis!
